Let's Get Real

Let's Get Real

Soon after Green Light: Go! was announced at the ZBT Leadership School, some brothers reached out to JWI and asked to make this event something more important. Sure, it’s great to have a fun event that will raise awareness (and money), but what about igniting a conversation on campus that might really make a difference? Everyone’s talking about bystander intervention, but no one is really, honestly talking about why things are the way they are. Why do girls have to protect their drinks? Yes, because the drinks could be drugged, but why is that happening? Why do some guys want girls who are unconscious? What’s that about? And why do we think it’s okay for a guy to hook up with a lot of girls, but judge girls for doing similarly? Let’s start talking honestly about all of this—let’s be better men.

That is the thinking behind “Let’s Get Real”—a weeklong, campus-wide conversation that will culminate in Green Light: Go! We encourage your chapter to bring this to your campus Oct. 19-23 to coincide with Green Light: Go! Watch the video on the homepage to learn more, and find details on the Timeline.

Download these posters to print and hang around your campus to get the conversation going.

It's On Us

The It's On Us campaign has a number of effective PSAs on their YouTube channel. Their PSAs for this year focus on consent, and this short video sums up the issue succinctly.

Til It Happens To You

Lady Gaga recently released a new song and music video to raise awareness about sexual assault on college campuses. The message is clear: we need to support and believe survivors and work together to end this epidemic. Share it with your friends and start a discussion:
